HAYABUSA MRS 173 is a popular form of carp hook. The hook is strong, thick-fleshed, but despite its thickness, it penetrates quickly into the mouths of fish because, in addition to being extremely pointed, it flattens on two other sides and the tip of the hook is turned outwards from about the middle of the bay. The former is important for larger carp when the hook has to be stuck on the bony, hard parts. The MRS173 is ideal for large lures, pellet and boilie techniques, and the hook shank is long, so you can use both hard and soft lures and strings (hooked into the bay).
